4th of July in M-Ville

This is one of my better late than never posts…  this time it’s Independence Day several weeks later.  Remember that holiday that comes and goes and leaves you in the dust wondering where your precious summer has gone?

Usually I am hanging with Ryan for the 4th of July, watching fireworks at a local carnival.  However, this year he was out-of-state so plans were a little different this time.  I missed him though.  :(

My Mom and I went to visit my 89-year-old Grandma in North Missouri.  My cousin, Christy, flew in from Florida and my Aunt Eve, Uncle John, and cousins from the KC area also joined us.  One of my other cousins lives right down the street from my Grandma, so of course he was there too.  It was like a mini-family reunion!  Great family time.

That weekend included…

Lots and lots of food.  Twice baked potatoes, cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, chips and dip, chicken salad, etc, etc.

Oh and, homemade vanilla ice cream. YUM.

NO fireworks. :(  It poured the entire day of the 4th.  What a bummer!  The weather did not feel like the usual hot, humid, and sunny 4th of July weekends.

Board games and Wii Sports.

Last minute Poly Sci mid-term.  Double bummer!

Shopping on the way home.  Target!  Pier 1!  Woo!

Here’s a few pictures from the weekend…

Yes, I’d like some whipped cream on that….

Christy, my Mom, my Grandma, and me.  Three generations.

Cousins!  Christy, me, and Mitch.

My cousins, Christy and Mitch.
A pretty sunset on the way home.
