Weekending With Ryan

If you guessed that my pumpkin looked like this….

…then you are right!  1,000 points to Nour!  She knows me well.  :)

After four weeks too long in between visits, Ryan and I were finally able to hang out again this past weekend!  Woohoo!!!

You know it’s gonna be a good weekend when your boyfriend surprises you by getting a head start on the trip, even if that means he had to skip a few classes… :o)

Sure enough, it was quite lovely!

What kind of fun did we have this time?  Well….

We carved punkins and baked the seeds.

We used the recipe from Simply Recipes (see here.)

Step 1) Rinse and separate the seeds from the pumpkin guts.

Step 2) Boil in salt water

Step 3: Oil up the pan and heat up the oven

Step 4: Pour seeds onto pan

Step 5: Add secret ingredients if you’d like something extra.

Step 6: Bake in the oven until they are golden!

Step 7: Enjoy!

Well, they were good… except for the fact that they were realllly chewy.  I’m not sure what happened.  Has anyone ever baked pumpkin seeds successfully?

I love the pumpkin I carved.  Yep, I carved it all by myself.  Ryan had a pumpkin to carve too, but he said “I’ll do it later.”  Mmhmm.

So I can it can be OUR pumpkin.  It does say 214 after all.

What??? It’s not October anymore??

Oh well!

I did another photo shoot of Ryan.  I can’t wait to show you the photos, but until I have time to edit, here is a preview!!!

We ate lots of good food, and took what seems to be a traditional trip to Panera with his Momma.

He also helped me with a family photo shoot I already had scheduled.  It was really fun and it was the first time we had worked together on a shoot!  Maybe it can become a regular thing?!  :)  See the sneak peek.

And yes, we did stop on the road to take some pictures of ourselves during the sunset.  With matching jackets and all.

He didn’t leave until after sunset on Sunday so hopefully his late night back in Indiana was worth it.  I loved the extra time with him!!!

I already can’t wait to go visit him in a couple weeks!
