On Wednesday, neither Darah nor Micah had to work so we planned to visit Tybee Island, one of the closest beaches to Savannah. They hadn’t yet seen the Atlantic Ocean since they had lived in Savannah!
First, Ryan and I ate lunch at Soho South Cafe – “where food is an art.” It was pretty fancy! I had the “modern grilled cheese and tomato basil bisque” and Ryan had “grilled organic chicken panini.” Well, we each traded each other for half of our sandwich and both were delicious!
Then we got coffee/desert from Savannah Bee Company! We just had to try the honey latte. YUM!
Micah and Darah were then ready to visit Tybee Island. We saw the lighthouse, but only from the outside since it was closed.
The island was pretty dead because it was pretty chilly and cloudy that day, even misting a bit too. We didn’t care – we were at the OCEAN! I’m usually land locked in Missouri, you know. Soo, I just had to feel the sand in my toes and the water on my feet just once during our vacation. Getting my tennis shoes soaked first wasn’t the brightest idea… but our trip wouldn’t have been complete without sandy feet. I think my feet almost got frostbit though… lol!
When we got back to their house, Micah made us delicious pasta and chicken for dinner.. and Darah made brownies for desert. It was our last night there… aww. One more post coming soon to finish up our trip.
