My New 35 mm + More

Ever since Easter weekend, Ryan and I have been going back in forth between Missouri and Indiana.  It’s been fun.  :o)

This week we went to Missouri on Monday and came back to Indiana yesterday (Thursday).  On our way through STL is when I got my new iPhone. And some Teavana!

When we got to Indy, we stayed up until 3 AM and went on a donut run.  There’s a local donut shop called Al’s Donuts that is only open form 2:30 AM until 9:30 AM (or until they run out of donuts).  So we got to choose from a large selection of fresh donuts at 3 in the morning!  It was worth it.  (Worth the calories?  Maybe.)

We just bought our first L-Series lens – eeek!  The 35 mm 1.4 L.  UPS delivered it today and it was like Christmas!  Such a huge difference between the 35 mm 2.0 and the 35 mm 1.4L.  It’s safe to say we are hooked and this is just the beginning of our L-series collection.

Isn’t it pretty?

We need a quick comparison of the two lenses, on the same exact settings (Aperture 2.0, ISO 100, Shutter Speed 1/125).  Here’s the two pictures SOOC (straight out of camera).  The lenses feel and sound so different.  The new one is soo smooth.

Besides ooohing and ahhhing over the new lens, today we rode bikes with Todd & Carrie on the Monon Trail.  We rode like 13 miles or so and now I am exhausted!  (Thanks Kelly for letting me borrow your bike!) Afterwards, we got dinner at my favorite place, Broad Ripple Bagel and Deli.  YUM.

This weekend we are going to Ohio (my first time there!) to take photos at a wedding.  We get to put our new lens to good use and also use a few lenses that we are renting.  Also – we are going to make a stop at IKEA (also my first time there!)  Sounds like there’s fun in store!  Well, unless the world ends — on my Dad’s (would be) 52nd Birthday.  :)  Miss you Dad!  I’m ready to celebrate with you if the world DOES end tomorrow.

Wow-wee girlie! You won’t know what to do with yourself when you have to come back to MO!
Enjoy your weekend and mark off some of those “first” off your list… I love when you can do that!
