Go, Bloggers! Go…

….to the local bloggers meet-up!!

Are you local?  If you’ve heard of Rolla, Missouri, then you probably are!  Come join us on September 11th if you are a fellow blogger!  :o)  We will be meeting for lunch and great conversation at a Chinese restaurant.  Nice choice! I’m so excited that Mrs. Haid and Chrissy have planned this blogger lunch date.  You can only get to know someone so much through their writings, but in person you can hear their voice, know more about their personality, and really get to know the person behind the blog.  I hope I don’t disappoint anyone , ha… ;o) … just remember, I am very petite!  That’s what surprises most people.  Oh and not as wordy as I am on here… hah.

Mrs. Haid, a bloggy friend, and I have been trying to meet for the past year or so!  Our schedules have never successfully worked together … until now!  And better yet, I get to meet lots of bloggers from around this area.

I happen to babysit for one local blogger, and she’s my former Color Guard coach… Ashley.  I’m also about to start babysitting for another,  Jaimee.  I have met Nel, but haven’t had the chance to really talk with her.  I’ve never met Chrissy , Kim, Jessica… and probably many more!  This should be fun!  :o)

Oh did I mention my boyfriend is a local blogger?  Well, if you still count him even though he lives in Indiana most of the time.  I’m trying to convince him to come to St. James that weekend for the Grape & Fall Festival.  He may not want to join the meet-up, probably being the only guy there.

Alright, so who else will I be meeting or seeing there?!  Can’t wait!  Putting it on my calendar now.

Well, that was a quick break. Two more weeks ’til the next one!

On Thursday morning, my Mom and I traveled 5.5 hours to visit my Grandma in North Missouri… where it is definitely not yet spring! It was cold, cloudy, and there was still snow on the ground. I didn’t think I would see snow again until next winter! Guess I was wrong.

We had a good visit with her though. She will be 89 years old in May and is one tough lady! I think she has 9 lives (like a cat) because she has been through so many things (car accidents, broken hip, intestine surgery, you name it).

She just had some pictures taken at Church and surprised us with some that she ordered. She doesn’t like her picture taken so she tried her best to smile for us. She is laughing in this one-it’s my favorite. :) She says she has too many wrinkles… lol.. I think she is silly and looks good for her age.

We took her fat (17 lbs!), grouchy cat to the vet to get her nails trimmed. She is a brat and had to wear a muzzle because she wanted to bite the vet. Then when we got home, she hissed at us when we looked at her. Well, besides my Grandma since she only likes her.

On Saturday morning we headed home and I slept half of the way. I didn’t get to catch up on my sleep at my Grandma’s so I was really tired. We made it back in time for me to babysit on Saturday night for almost 6 hours. 6 hours of traveling + 6 hours of babysitting = long day! When I was babysitting, I almost started a fire (on accident and not my fault!) I pre-heated the oven for a pizza and little did I know that there was a cardboard box with a pie inside hidden in the oven. I quickly figured it out when I smelled something funny and caught it before it caught flame. That was close!

And then we had to “spring forward” the time, which is all worth it when the sun sets later at night.

Today I was way too lazy for my own good and am ready to end this day and start a new one. I hate when I feel so unmotivated and lazy like this for an entire day. Yuck.

But before I go…

Happy Half-Birthday Ryan!!! (He’s been 22 for 6 months, wow!) & Happy Pi Day to any nerds out there!

Saturday Catch-Up

How does time slip away so quickly? I haven’t blogged since Monday and I didn’t mean for that to happen. I can’t blame it on tests again… but I can blame it on the fact that I feel like the energy is sucked out of me every day.

I hope I don’t bore you, but I don’t know where else to start except with a catch-up…

The beginning of this week brought some snow… not 9 inches like they first predicted, but enough that my Mom had to drive me to class for a few days. My brother (who is a senior in HS) had half a week of snow days! Not fair!

I had three appointments this week… doctor, dentist, and therapist!

I went to the doctor because my therapist recommended anxiety medicine. It’s actually an anti-depressant, but also helps anxiety — and is very much needed in my life right now. It takes about two weeks to start working so I’m patiently waiting…

Oh, but also my Mom started on the same medicine yesterday. Her blood pressure is dangerously high and it’s probably due to stress/anxiety. (Anxiety is hereditary, did you notice?) We are currently trying to get new health insurance right now and I think we are about to get rejected.

My dentist appointment was fine since they didn’t take x-rays (and hence the words ‘wisdom teeth’ were not mentioned).

My therapy appointment was more talk about anxiety. (I’m tired of saying that word.)

I babysat Wednesday night and Friday night. I am also babysitting tomorrow (Valentine’s Day! That’s what happens when your bf is long-distance.)

Even though I didn’t end up with any cancelled classes due to snow, my Psych class was cancelled on Wednesday. I also have two cancelled classes in the upcoming week. Yesss.

I found out my other test scores from last week. Good and bad news.
In Ecology I got over 100. (Even though I missed 9, I got 11 points extra credit. He made commonly missed ones extra credit, which happens to be ones that I knew.)
In Genetics I got an 83… I know that doesn’t sound too bad, but it’s one of my worst test scores ever. It’s frustrating because I do understand the material, but I was rushed to get the extremely long test finished in 50 minutes.

On Thursday night, I went to a worship service on campus held by the Christian Campus Fellowship (CCF). I told my therapist I would go in November.. and I know it’s February, but hey– better late than never! A friend from high school went with me and it was really good! They are doing a series on The Sermon on the Mount and that night it was about Matthew 5:27-30 (Adultery/Lust/Sex). We plan to go back on Thursday nights.

If you recall, I am reading the Bible in one year. I got behind in the past week (because again, I am so tired all the time), but I intend on getting caught up.

Whoa (sad):
I actually fixed my hair and put on make-up yesterday… I had to send my bf a picture!

Does anyone have any ideas for this exhaustion and also disruptive sleep? I wonder if it is related to the a word or maybe depression and perhaps my medicine will help…
